In general, the present program aims to improve the lifestyle, the economy and social infrastructure in the village regions of the country.
The village regions are the municipalities, which lack areas with more than 30 thousand people. 231 municipalities in Bulgaria are classified as village regions and only 33 municipalities as town.

Activities of creative people and companies for development and improvement of labour environment, infrastructure, tourism, entrepreneurship shall also be assisted by means of creating and development of small enterprises, agriculture, rechargeable energy sources, education and many other activities.
Potential grant recipients shall be mostly agricultural proprietors, small enterprises, municipalities and non-governmental organizations, as well as educational and qualification institutes.

The funds, depending on the specific activity, will come to the amount between 50% and 100% from the admissible project expenses.

Creating and developing of non-agricultural business in the village regions

The purpose of this measure is to help the existing and new founded small enterprises, developing non-agricultural activity.

The admissible activities for grant shall be in the production sphere, trade, rechargeable energy sources, cultivation of energy crops, etc.
Grant recipients shall be small enterprises, developing their activity in the village regions.
The amount of grant shall be up to 70% from the admissible project expenses.

Encouraging tourist activities

The purpose of this measure is to help the existing great potential for tourist development in the village regions. Specialized researches show that almost half of the national territory of Bulgaria offers considerable possibilities for working out attractive tourist products.
Under this measure, the following activities shall be assisted: activities directed towards creation and renovation of the accommodation base, developing tourist attractions and landmarks, as well as recreation spots, national parks and tourist sights.

Potential grant recipients shall be municipalities, companies, non-governmental organizations.

The amount of grant shall be between 50% and 70% from the admissible expenses on companies and non-governmental organizations, as well as up to 100% for the municipalities.

Main scope of services in connection with the economy and the population of the village regions

The purpose of this measure is to improve the social infrastructure and economy in the village regions. It is directed towards leisure services like recreation and sports, cultural and social activities.

Potential beneficiaries shall be municipalities, community centers, non-governmental organization, companies, educational and qualification institutes.

The amount of grant for companies and non-governmental organizations shall be between 50% to 70%, and for the municipalities – up to 100% from the total admissible expenses.

Village renovation and development

The measure is oriented towards improvement, reconstruction and building infrastructure in the village regions, as grant shall be received for the municipal roads, sewers system, street, street lights, gardens, playgrounds, monuments, etc.

Grant beneficiaries shall be municipalities, community centers and non-governmental organizations.

The amount of funds shall be up to 100% of the admissible project expenses.
